The easiest solution for non-Steam games is to actually bring Steam back into the picture. But the good news is that it's now natively recognized in Windows, which helps speed things up. If you aren't playing games via Steam, using a Switch Pro controller is still an option but it requires a little extra work, particularly for a Bluetooth connection. Adjust to your liking, but 3 has worked wonders for me so far.Īny other functions I might have left out I can add later if need be.Using Steam is the really easy way to get this controller working. In-game settings I use OTS View Mode with Camera Sensitivity Set to 3 witch I find gives the best control over your ability to Aim in combat and Navigate Menus. If you want a specific amount of items from the Stack just manually move the mouse cursor with Right Joystick to the Arrow and press Right Trigger to scroll over to the amount you want. If your buying a Stack Hold the A Button and press Left Trigger to quickly select and buy the Whole Stack If your buying only 1 Item Hold the A Button and press Right Trigger to Quick Buy Double tap Right Trigger to bring up the Purchase Confirmation Menu. Use Right Joystick to move the mouse cursor over the Item/Stack you want to buy. Works good if you press buttons at the same time with your Thumb.
It is easy to setup your own custom coordinates in pinnacle profiler though, if anybody needs to I can put a quick description how to do it. They use screen coords to automatically move the mouse to the menu button position on the screen. The following features will only work on 1920x1080 Resolution(1080p). Hold A and Press Right Bumpter to Zoom Camera In Hold A and Press Left Bumper to Zoom Camera Out Works just like The Witcher 2 so you can Dodge more fluidly instead of having to double tap.
Load the game and your ready to play 100% with Controller only.Ī button + Left Joystick in any direction to quickly dodge. After that click ok, make sure The Witcher profile is selected and press Play to start the Controller Profile.
Install Pinnacle and Import the "The Witcher.pin" file downloaded here. Took me a while to get it adjusted properly to make combat smooth and enjoyable with the Controller but It works great now! I use a setting of Sensitivity 3 to allow Best control over Aiming your attacks in Combat. NOTE: Very important to Adjust In-Game Camera Sensitivity to your Liking.
This is my attempt to make the game play a bit more like The Witcher 2 with a controller.
After looking at other Pinnacle Profiles that didn't work very well for me at all and made the game too sloppy to play with the Controller I decided to mod up my own and its working great, feels a lot like playing The Witcher 2 with a 360 controller. Since I have recently begun to prefer using a 360 Controller for PC games so I can sit back a little from the screen, this was a problem for me. I just finished Witcher 2 a ccuple days ago and decided to delve back into the Witcher 1 forgetting it had no controller support. Just been going through replaying the old Witcher and Witcher2 games in anticipation for May 19 Witcher 3 release.
